I managed to get quite a bit done this weekend. Husband took the tinkerbells swimming and I had 3 whole hours of uninterrupted sewing!! I made really good progress on my Chevron quilt but I have to say it has been a hard slog. I am not sure what I was thinking when I started it but I am at last getting to the good bit. It might even look good when it is done.
I also played with some curves and made this lemon block.
I love it. I have never tried curves before but used a fabulous tutorial from Kerry at Verykerryberry and I am really pleased with how they came out - not bad for a first time anyway!

WIP Wednesday
Another blizzard here today, it feels like it hasn't stopped snowing since we arrived 6 weeks ago. The snow pile is about 2 metres high. I wonder how long it will take to melt, my bet is April! I thought I would link up with Freshly Pieced today and show some of my WIPs.
- Hexagon cushion - just need to decide what fabric to back this with.
- Modern mini challenge - almost done, just attaching the binding. I am really pleased with how it is turning out.
- Chevron Quilt - well I haven't touched this for months. I lost my way with all those HSTs. I pressed a couple of the finished chevrons today and they look quite good I just need to crack on with it.
- T quilt - I have started it and made a few blocks this week.
- Quilt for my new nephew - well I need to get cracking as my sister in law's due date is rapidly approaching!
That's me, off to clear snow, at least it is good exercise.

So eldest daughter asked me to make her a bigger pouch so she could fit her phone, purse and watch in it when she goes to work. She is only 4 and all of these items are pretend (I obviously don't send her out to work yet). I got round to it at the weekend. She chose the fabric, no surprise that there is a lot of pink in it. I haven't made a pouch/purse or in fact anything with a zip in for a while and I had to do a bit of unpicking. I don't think it helped that I used a mish mash of tutorials, will definitely use just one next time. Anyway daughter likes it and it is now stuffed full of everything a 4 year old could possibly need when she goes to work!

Bee block
So I have completed my first bee block for the We Bee Modern Too bee. This one is for Kersten and is called Missing your Kiss. It is from the 99 Modern Blocks book. This is my first bee and I have to say I am a bit nervous about it. The other ladies in the bee are super talented and the blocks coming up on the Flickr group look great. My block is by no means perfect but I enjoyed making it and I am happy with it.
I am Queen Bee for April so have to get on with deciding what my block will be. There are so many fun ones in the book it is going to be a tough decision.

Post and a mini
Ok so this is my first ever blog post. I have been working on this mini quilt using some coloured scraps and a piece of grey material I had in the cupboard. I am quite liking how it is turning out but am a bit daunted by all that grey.
I am in two minds about how to quilt it. Initially I was thinking of some random lines across but am now wondering about echo quilting around the coloured squares in a coloured thread. I want to keep it simple, but there is all that grey! Will have to sleep on it, have to brave the cold this afternoon to get provisions, how 2 small children can eat so much bread and so many bananas I will never know.
