Yippee a finish!

I am on a bit of a mission at the moment to clear my backlog of unfinished projects. Last year I had a fairly bad case of startitous and very little was finished. I am trying not to let this happen this year.  So this week I finished my Tetris quilt. I started it as part of Melissa at  Happy Quilting 's QAL last summer.

my glamorous assistant had to battle quite hard with the wind!

I quilted it in a grid pattern, extending the grid into the purple border.

This was my first attempt at straight line quilting and I have to be honest I almost lost the will to finish it. I think I need to invest in a walking foot!

  1. My first thought when I saw this was "Tetris!" Actually, that's a lie, my first thought was "that glamourous assistant is in shorts in the snow!" Heh heh. It's a cracking quilt and isn't it satisfying to have another off the must-finish pile?

  2. Love it. Such brilliant colours, and the solid purple being on only two sides is a great idea.

  3. I just love the colors you used in this and yes you definitely need a walking foot. They make the straight line quilting so much easier.

  4. Case of startitous. Hehe. Crack me up.

Yes to the walking foot. Grids can still be annoying but I'd possibly have bawled my eyes out doing Yoshi without one.

It'S a lovely finish and I'm looking forward to your next!

  5. it's fab. A walking foot will help but doesn't remove the boredom (which I quite like ;))
