The Curse of the HST

I think the HSTs have defeated me.  I have to be honest I struggle with them but today I have had to walk away from the machine before I throw something. The block tutorial is great, it is clear and easy to follow. I should be able to do it but for the life of me I can't get the block to work. I just can't do it.  Just look at that one on the right, aaaarrggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

How many times can I unpick and resew before I finally give in. Today I really hate pesky triangles!!

Hope your Sunday is less frustrating.

  1. Are you trimming after sewing the HSTs?

  2. They can be a real pain to make. I have made a few from binding or I use 4 in one trick. =D

  3. Don't stress! You saw the one I made for the tute - they look fine! I'm not a perfectionist, I don't expect anyone else to be either :o)

  4. I know that feeling well, I had terrible trouble with the triangles in the tote bag from the Zakka-style SAL, and I would echo what Susan says. Trimming the overhanging ends made it much easier to line them up, seems a really little thing I know, but it might help you beat these triangles into submission!

  5. HSTs can be so stressful! When I was having an issue with them, it turned out that I had missed a few during the trimming process. I love the colors you chose for this block!
