Back to normal everyday life after my trip to the UK. It was lovely to see the folks and meet my new(ish) nephew. I admit it was also lovely to have some time away from the little ones! Anyway, I thought as it was Wednesday I would show you the progress I have made on my hexies. Here are the four completed panels.
I ordered some Kona Purple from Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting last week (absolutely brilliant service, fabric was here in 2 days!!) and am now making a shed load of purple hexies to encase the pattern panels. Now this could take a bit of a while because I figure I need at least 300 of them. Mind you it is amazing how many I can make whilst getting my two year old to sleep!

I love your hexies - I'm looking forward to seeing them with the purple! Wish I'd thought of patchwork while trying to get 2 year olds to sleep - you have my sympathy:-)
ReplyDeleteHello. I'm visiting from W.I.P Wednesday. I love all your hexies. I just made my first hexie last month. I look forward to seeing yours all finished.
ReplyDeleteAmazing!! My patience left me after a pillowsized hexiquilt.
ReplyDeleteLove your hexies! They will look great with the purple too.

ReplyDeleteWow! This will be quite the quilt! I'm amazed at people who have the patience to piece all of this. Really beautiful! Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteWow they are amazing! I'm surprised you're not sick of seeing them now =D
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project to have for small hand work!
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks so amazing! You really are inspiring me to try hexies again! But 300??? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThe hexies are looking brilliant!
ReplyDeleteGosh you have been busy, and it sounds like you will be even busier soon. 300 hexies - you have my admiration, you certainly have more patience than I do!
ReplyDeleteTakes me back to when I was at school, though I never managed to put that many together. We use to make pincushions, the 7 hexie 'flower', with a backing and some stuffing - those were the days!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Great to see how this is growing. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a very impressive collection of hexies! Good luck with the porder panels.
