Cream Crackered

What a week. The small people have been particularly tricksy and there has been a distinct lack of sleep for all the female members of the family (husband was away so I suspect he had beautiful sleeps all week - not that I am bitter or anything). It has felt a bit like having 2 newborns in the house. There have been tantrums, bed wetting, shouting, grumping and general poor behaviour all round. My brain is well and truly squashed and I have had no inclination whatsoever to use the sewing machine. I have instead made a load of paper pieced hexagons. They have been very therapeutic to sew and have not needed me to think very much. I have a grand plan for them although whether I will ever sew enough of them to finish is another matter. Here are some of them in their multicoloured glory.

The rest are in a very unglamorous plastic jiffy bag.

I am hoping to make more progress next week. Fingers crossed the blighters sleep and if not, for tonight at least, their father can deal with them!

Marmite and T(ea)

I managed to finish my T quilt top this weekend. I used Cheryl Arkison's 'To a T' block design from Modern Blocks. It is so easy to put together and I really like the simplicity. This quilt is going to be for littlest daughter. These are not colours I would normally work with but I am really happy with how it has turned out. I used a mix of 'Outfoxed' by Lizzie House and some Kate Spain 'Terrain' that I had lurking in my stash. It is a little on the small side so I think I am going to add either a deep purple or dark red border to finish it off.

We are back in winter here today more snow and minus temperatures. BUT the sun in shining and we saw our resident giant hare this morning. My Mum and Dad arrive tonight for the long weekend. It will be so lovely to see them and as an added bonus they will be bringing marmite and tea! Life is definitely good even with the extra snow.

Fresh Sewing Day - Small Blog Meet

Well this is what I made in March, not a huge amount it has to be said but I did finish my Chevron quilt top at last.  I am so pleased I finished it. I still have to quilt it and bind it but I am thinking over how to do that. The pouches and cushion cover were a fun distraction - a quick sewing fix.

I can't believe it is April already. Still snow here and blizzard conditions forecast for tomorrow. There was me thinking Easter was in Spring!
